Honoring Dr. Christine Hofer's Legacy

 

RESOLUTION ADOPTED DECEMBER 5, 2022, BY THE SOUTH REDFORD

BOARD OF EDUCATION TO NAME DISTRICT FACILITY – DR. CHRISTINE HOFER COLLABORATIVE WORKSPACE

 

Member, Misha Early, moved adoption of the following.

 

WHEREAS, from time-to-time, the Board of Education may wish to commemorate a school or District facility (gymnasium, swimming pool, athletic field, etc.) by means of a plaque, naming the facility after a person, or some other honor.; and

 

WHEREAS, such commemoration should be reserved only for those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the enhancement of education generally or the District in particular or to the well-being of the District, community, State or nation; and

 

WHEREAS, any employee of the District thus honored must be deceased or no longer employed by the District prior to the Board’s selection of his/her name for commemoration honor; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Christine Hofer served the students and staff of the South Redford School District as a Teacher, a Principal at Addams Elementary School, a Principal at Pierce Middle School, and as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Christine Hofer provided outstanding educational leadership and tireless service to the students, staff, parents, and community of South Redford over her professional career;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the South Redford Board of Education does hereby recognize the contributions made to this District by Dr. Christine Hofer for her years of exemplary service to the students, staff, parents, and community of South Redford, particularly in the area of her administrative leadership; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the new SOAR Collaborative room is hereby named the Dr. Christine Hofer Collaborative Workspace in honor of Dr. Christine Hofer and her legacy; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary of the Board of Education is directed to notify the South Redford community and staff of this action.
